Stuck in a Study Center with 72′ Weather Outside

It’s time to focus.  I have to write.  I have to read.  The injustice of it all?  It’s a beautiful 72′ F. outside, with a brilliantly blue sky and a soft breeze.  I’m currently stuck in the family housing study center lit by florescent lightning.  The laughter of children and families playing together outside in the courtyards reaches my ears taunting me–serving as a continuous reminder of my desire to take my baby for a stroll to the park and have a picnic.  Damn you California with your awesome weather!  Yesterday there was asparagus at the farmers’ market, a sure sign of an early spring.  This only means that the torture of staying indoors to complete my grad school work while there is beautiful weather outside will only continue.  Why can’t us Cali folk get a descent winter for crying out loud?!  It’s so much easier to stay inside glued to a computer and a chair when it’s raining and cold.

There.  I’m done.  My whining quota has been reached, and now I must write about real injustices going on in the world–specifically food injustices.  Where ever you are, and what ever you’re doing, I hope you’re having a great day.

Well I must say that the weather in Berkeley last week was SUBLIME; and I don’t use that word often! Sorry you had to stay stuck inside but I sure enjoyed my visit and being in that gorgeous weather! Not one day was a disappointment, except the day I had to leave of course!

So happy the weather was beautiful for your visit. It has now returned to normal winter weather, i.e, lowered temperatures, though it is still bright and sunny during the day. That helped me feel ok about being in the study center today ;) Hope you will come again soon!
